Blog Topic #4

According to the Personal Profile test, I am a C with high D. I think that this diagnostic test describe me pretty well. I am definitely a conscientious type, I like to know the rules and directions before I attempt on doing something. The reason for this is rather rudimentary, I simply don't like to get things wrong, I would prefer to get it right the first time around! Again, this test was able to capture a part of me, however nothing is really set in stone; depending on the situation, I believe I can be any of the 'DISC'. I definitely think that it's helpful to determine people's management 'type' but, just for just starting out in a job. I believe that depending on the person's progress in the company, that individual should not be just limited to that original test result. Again, depending on the situation of the company, an individual can end up being a different part of the 'DISC'. As far as using this Personal Profile test for personal interaction, I believe it would be a great idea, quoting what Professor Kurpis said in class, before dating someone, have them take this test and if they are a D, run the other way! This test can certainly allow one to know if they should be starting a relationship with someone else, or even being friends or business partners, etc. with someone.

  1. Well it seems that you really like the test and do not doubt the accuracy of it. I like the test as well but I do not know whether its completely truthful. I got a D, but generally I am a humble nice person despite the face that I do get sort of aggressive in times. I think it should just be a game that we play for fun, definitely not taking it seriouly and use it on our relationship.

  2. I got the flip side of your result, a D with a high C. The test was really accurate for me, and I think those two traits are the most important if you want to be a successful manager in a high stress operation. However, I'm hesitant to trust the results for others 100% because, while it was completely accurate for me, all tests have flaws, and we can't base our view of the potential of others on a 28 word test.

  3. I agree with you that the person can be all these types at work but I disagree with you about personal interaction. I am a D, and according to you, guys should run from me. People can be all these types even in the relationships. It depends how they feel about the person that they have relationship with.
